The Prospects are coming and The Future is now for the Seattle Mariners. The long awaited call-up for Jarred Kelenic is expected to happen this Thursday.

The move has been a long-time coming. However, Jerry Dipoto and Scott Servais wanted to see if he was up to the task of being in the big leagues, by having him play at Triple-A Tacoma.

Over the off-season, there was a lot of mixed news going on around the Jarred Kelenic and Seattle Mariners situation, especially after the comments from Kevin Mather. But, now that the former President is gone Kelenic seems destined for the big-leagues with the Mariners and Kelenic having that water under the bridge.

Jarred Kelenic did not make the big-league squad out of spring training but per report of Jeff Passan, he might make his Major League Debut this Thursday.

Stats At Triple-A

This season, with Triple- A Tacoma Kelenic has done quite a bit of damage in the four games he has played in. He’s currently hitting .444 (8-18), with 2 Homeruns and 2 stolen bases.

Everyone knew coming out of Spring Training that Jarred Kelenic would make his debut this season, but it was a matter of when. That was the unknown.

Kelenic is one of the best prospects, if not the best prospect that the Mariners have had since Ken Griffey Jr. He is an all-around player with an elite-bat and elite-defense.

Whether or not, these rumors are true. You can expect to see Kelenic up with the big-league squad at some point.

What Will The Outfield Look Like?

With the arrival of Kelenic, and Julio Rodriguez due to be called up to Triple-A Tacoma soon. The second wave of Mariners prospects might be just around the corner. To start the season, the Mariners outfield has been a little rocky. But with Kelenic coming up, you would expect for Kelenic to play Left Field, with Kyle Lewis locking down Center, and Mitch Haniger in Right.
