
The Boise Hawks have struggled early on this season, and they dropped game 4 against the Ogden Raptors, 11-3. Coming the night after a 9-4 win. With the Hawks having post game fireworks, the Raptors came with a few of their own early on, with a grand slam off of Boise starter Matt Dallas in the first inning. The Raptors continued with a home run in the second inning by Reese Alexiades, who had two home runs on the evening.
After giving up nine runs in the first two innings, Dallas settled down and gave the Hawks 6, saving the bullpen. He ended up with 5 strikeouts. He retired the last 11 batters he faced The Hawks reduced the deficit to an eight run ball game throughout the middle innings when they got RBI doubles from Jacob Cruce and Tyler Jorgensen, as well as an RBI single from Juan Teixeira in the fifth.
After the fifth inning, the Ogden Raptors held the Hawks scoreless and only allowed 4 runners on base. While Boise also only allowed four base runners after the sixth inning.
No runs were scored by either team in the last two innings. With the Raptors scoring the final runs of the evening in the seventh, off of the second home run by Alexiades.
The Hawks and Raptors will face off five more times, including two more at Memorial Stadium.
Whats next for Boise?
The Hawks will face the Raptors at home for two more games before hitting the road to Grand Junction. The Hawks will play at 7 PM tomorrow, looking to get back on track and picking up the wins against the Raptors in front of the home crowd. Monday, the hawks will get a much needed day off in order to regroup for their road trip to Colorado.
Tomorrows game for the Hawks will feature a celebrity appearance: Tom Guiry, better known as smalls from the Sandlot. He will be available for pictures and autographs.
